On Saturday the 8th of February, this year, I went to see Tom Odell live in the O2 academy in Brixton. All I can say is wow. Tom Odell is a 22 year old singer/songwriter who plays the piano, and every sound that comes from his mouth and is made by his hands is like gold dust rushing through the atmosphere and into my ears. Now hopefully we are in agreement that this man is some sort of Greek God, sent down from the heavens to convince us that there is still passion and talent in music, not just constant repetition of basic tunes, and idiotic lyrics.
So yes, I was lucky enough to be in his presence for over an hour and a half, and I can honestly say that it is the best concert I have ever been to in my entire life. I came out of the venue speechless, and couldn't create any words to say about what had just happened. Honestly, this wasn't a concert. This was an experience. I strongly urge you to go and see him if you have the chance to. Though I know all the words to almost all of his songs, you needn't learn them, as you can simply sit there and listen. Each lyric means something, and each song tells a story, and singers no longer tend to do that these days.
